raya goods
The idea that inspired RAYA GOODS came to be before my son was born. I was bursting with ideas while pregnant with him. I thought: why not make this available to everyone else? So a personal project turned into my humble little venture.
The word RAYA in Spanish/Tagalog drawn or printed line. It was a gender-neutral and non-traditional name my partner and I considered for my son. In the end, it became a perfect name for a different kind of baby.
I am interested in the gender neutrality and universality of a geometric, modern, earthy, line art style of illustration and pattern. I believe in the notion 'good design for all.'
I created/conceptualized retail products featuring my own modern illustrations and pattern designs. The product line expanded beyond kids’ apparel to include produce on-demand home decor items, stationery and personal accessories. I took on all brand promotion via social media marketing, e-commerce sales and managed pop-up sales events at retailers such as: West Elm, Drake General Store, Gladstone Hotel and Lululemon.
